- Hi guys and gals, for awhile photobooth is saying no camera connected and screen is black. I tried alt command+p r but no avail. Any help on this For any iSight problems, first try restarting the Mac.
- AppleCameraAssistant and VDCAssistant are both processes that support the camera within MacOS. If you cannot reboot or have already tried that and you’re still seeing the ‘No camera available’ error, this is the next thing to try. Shut down any app that uses the camera. Open Terminal on your Mac.
Macs comes with a build-in front-facing camera, also referred as Face Time camera. It is located at the top edge of the screen and it turns on when you open an app that can take photos, record videos, or make video calls. Will 100% be a faulty assembly, unless you plugged the camera cable in with the battery connected (in which case you probably blew out a ferrite bead on the logic board). I have had an assembly before with the same issue. Bare in mind, pretty much all of the assemblies sold on eBay and Amazon are stock with minor defects.
